Professional In Home Dog Behavior Training

Pawsibilities Sedona Dog Training was founded with a mission: To improve the relationship between humans and their dogs. Dogs are here to enrich our lives with an unbreakable bond and unwavering unconditional love.  Yet, it can be difficult to experience that bond when there is misunderstanding, frustration, and a lack of effective communication and training. That is where Pawsibilities Sedona Dog Training comes in; to bridge that gap and bring human and dog together in harmony.

There are many factors that contribute to a dog’s behavior, and all of them are important to effectively improve that behavior. Holistic dog training includes addressing human behaviors and how they may affect dog behavior.  The connection between human and dog is symbiotic; one’s behavior cannot exist without affecting the other. Oftentimes when humans modify their behavior, it naturally results in behavior modification for the dog.

Behavior Modification

Angie Temple, Founder of Pawsibilities
with her dog Goldi

The inspiration for creating my own business working with dogs is a great story; one that I love to share. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was unequivocally, “I want to work with animals!”  My dream as a child was to be a veterinarian, but I had no desire to perform surgery (and didn’t have the stomach for it either!). So, I chose to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a dream to start my own business someday.

Upon graduation I began work at an advertising agency, and quickly realized that my desire to work with animals was not going away. So, I began calling every veterinary clinic within a 90 mile radius of my home, hoping to find anyone who would give me that opportunity. I found several good-hearted people who had much time and patience teaching me how to be a veterinary technician. And after several years of working as a technician, my passion for behavior became strong and apparent.

I was lucky enough to receive a grant to go back to school for Dog Behavior Training. Upon completion of my course work I did an externship at the Wisconsin Humane Society and was hired as a trainer, and began working as the head trainer at Invisible Fence. As my confidence and experience grew, I opened my own business and Pawsibilities was born!

WHAT MY CUSTOMERS SAY

“Angie is a sensitive and knowledgeable dog trainer who I would recommend to anyone. My Shih Tzu boy came into my life from the shelter with high anxiety, fear of strangers, and aggression after being given up by his prior owner of eight years. He is the first pet I ever had so I needed a lot of reassurance about the best way to train him. Angie understood our special bond and built on the strengths we already had. One year later, we have a routine down that really works for us. Angie was an important part of building a strong relationship that keeps growing everyday!” ~ Sharmeen Q

“We struggled for over 3 years with house-training our dog and some separation anxiety issues. It has now been several months since we met with Angie and our dog has done a complete 180. Our dog has been accident free and thanks to some great new techniques we learned, the separation anxiety issues do not exist anymore either. Our dog is a happier and better dog which has removed a lot of stress from our lives as well. Money well spent!” ~ Brent Kaul

“When we adopted our one-year-old vizsla, Rusty, we knew we would have our hands full with this new bundle of energy. We contacted Angie and set up training sessions right away. It was so convenient to have the training done in our home so everyone in the family could learn and participate together. Angie was highly dependable and flexible with our schedule and we made progress with Rusty very quickly. Today, we continue to use the tools she imparted and Rusty has become a wonderfully behaved and loving member of our family! Thank you so much, Angie!”~ The Menzel Family

“My husband and I bought a Norwegian Elkhound puppy, Blitz, with a great personality. He loves everybody and other pets, but we couldn’t get him to stop having accidents in his crate while we were gone. When we were home, he let us know when he needed to go outside, as if he was fully potty trained, but every time we left, even if it was for an hour, he would have accidents in his crate and smear it around. We tried asking the vet, researching anything we could online and in books, but none of it made a difference.

We later found Angie’s website and decided to give it a try. At that point, it was our last resort before having to get rid of Blitz, as we’d been struggling with the issue for a couple months. Angie’s schedule was very flexible, and when she came to our house, we immediately felt comfortable working with her. She listened to the problems that we were having, watched how we handled everyday situations (such as locking Blitz up in his crate to leave) and gave us plenty of different exercises and ideas to work through with Blitz. She also took a trip to the pet store with us to make sure that we understood everything.

Angie also made herself available readily available for any follow-up questions concerns that we had. We’re so happy that we can say that Blitz hasn’t had a single accident since Angie came to our home. She’s extremely friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to her career, and I would highly recommend her for any issues that you are having with your dog. I wish we would’ve gone to Angie sooner, and know that we’ll go back to her with any other issues that arise with Blitz and any future dogs that we have. Thank you so much Angie!”

“Angie has a natural keen instinct with animals and I can see she has a deep passion in training puppies. My Aussie gets so very excited when she comes over for training and I can see the differences in the puppy after spending time with her.

She has an in depth wealth of knowledge and is a complete natural with dogs.
She has been a godsend. Having a new puppy is a totally new experience for us being cat people and she has helped us reign in some of the uncontrollable energy our sweet Aussie has. Her suggestions have been invaluable.

Angie also noticed when things were a little off for our puppy. I would have never known that my Aussie had an ear infection and a bladder infection had she not shared it with me. Once it cleared up our baby was no longer having accidents and we were a little relieved at not having to clean up so many little messes.
Thanks again for supporting our family and our new puppy. We now have lots of tools in place and we are thankful to have found Angie. Being busy work people, it is really convenient that she is able to come to our home and teach our family how to live with a dog!”~ Angela E
